Shalat Architects P.C. is a creative contemporary firm with a long tradition. The firm traces its roots to Bloch & Hesse Architects, founded in 1916, through Bloch Hesse & Shalat Architects to its present form as Shalat Architects P.C. We are committed to providing innovative economical and sustainable architecture. We have decades of experience in a broad range of projects including state-of the–art broadcasting facilities, theaters, recording studios, restaurants and other public spaces as well as preservation and reuse of landmark historic structures.
Meet the team
Neal Shalat, RA, NCARB a registered architect, was born in New York. He obtained a Master’s Degree from The Southern California Institute of Architecture after first graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from SUNY Purchase. He studied in Switzerland with architects Mario Botta and Mario Campi from whom he learned the importance of the relationship between architecture and its surroundings, in both urban and natural settings. He joined Shalat Architects in 1986. He is a registered architect in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey. |

Edward E. Shalat, RA a registered architect, was born in New York and is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. Originally trained as a sculptor, he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania. He joined the firm in 1980.He has a profound knowledge of construction and the process of bringing projects to successful completion. This knowledge is enhanced by his artistic training and background. He is registered in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. |
